Years ago when I was a kid we used to have these one time use cameras. You remember those don’t you? They cost around $8, No flash, had to wind it up by yourself, click and do it again. Dropped it, no fear, those things could fall off a roof and still click. Most of the people I knew never developed theirs, as the fun was in the taking of the picture, not so much the developing of them. In fact I’ll bet if you went to your storage boxes right now, you would find some collecting dust. For the most part when I think back to my childhood years not much has changed. (Well now the camera does that whole winding thing on its own, or however it works)

I took up photography in early 2009. As I’m an avid traveler I felt it made sense to have a proper camera. (Those windy clicky cameras had long since left the shelves of NY, though I have seen them in India and Vietnam) However then came the realization that “proper” photo gear cost “proper” money. Hence when my phone rang with an offer to take pictures for a fee I jumped at it.

It’s been love ever since then. I suddenly realized that I enjoyed taking pictures at events; I love getting people to laugh at the lens and be themselves. I love being able to show the world through my eyes. Be it from a mountaintop in India, a beach in Thailand, Chevron the city of our forefathers to a wedding in NYC.
